Manual Editing Data9

Fields can be edited in the Edit Pane and the Detail Pane

Within the Edit Pane the fields are displayed in a view akin to a spreadsheet and can be edited like a spreadsheet. The pane contain multiple tabs that group the songs logically, and this can be modified in the Preferences

Within the Edit Pane you can edit a value by simply clicking on it and entering the new information if the value is invalid it will revert back to original value. Once you edit a field its colour will change to Edit Colour by default this is purple, if you change it back to its original value it will no longer be Edited Colour.

Most fields are simple text fields but some provide a Selectable Combo or an Editable Combo providing a list of valid values.

Some fields allow multiple values in this case Multi Field Count will display showing the current number of songs,

Double clicking on this will open a Pop-up Window to allow us to add additional values.

Some of these fields have multiple parts that can also be edited here.

Deleting a field will change its colour to Deleted Colour, by default this is red.

The first column on the Info tab is the Status column, this is also colour coded to indicate that the record has been modified (Edit Colour), if you mark the record to be deleted, it will be set to Deleted Colour.

Displaying the View Pane is useful to allow you to compare modified values with the original values, no changes will actually be made to the file until you select Save Changes

The Detail Pane allows you to edit the currently selected record, it groups together the fields logically in a series of tabs and can be easier to use than the Edit Pane. The Detail Pane does not use colour coding. Modifications made in the Detail Pane are immediately reflected in the Edit Pane and vice versa.
