Using SongKong
SongKong is designed to process your music automatically. You can use it on a single album, a folder containing many albums, or your entire music collection.
Most SongKong tasks work in the same way:
- Select the folder containing the music you want to process.
- Select the task you want to run, such as Fix Songs .
- Select a profile , such as the Default profile.
- Review the options for the task.
- Select Start .
- SongKong processes your music.
- When it has finished, SongKong displays a report showing what it found and what it changed.
- Review Changes
- If happy with results run Apply Preview task
Folders inside the folder you select are processed as well, so you do not have to select every album folder individually.
Profiles
A Profile is simply a saved set of options.
When you are getting started, you can normally just use the Default profile. You do not need to understand or change every option before using SongKong.
Later, if you find a set of options that works particularly well for your collection, you can save them as your own profile and use them again.
Example: Fix Songs

For your first attempt, we recommend selecting a small folder containing one or two albums.
1. Select your music folder
Select the folder containing the music you want SongKong to process using the Select Folder button

2. Select Fix Songs
Select Fix Songs from the Action menu or toolbar, this will display the Fix Songs profile selection window

3. Select the Default profile
Select the Default profile and then Start, SongKong now displays the options used by Fix Songs when using the Default profile.
4. Review the options
When you are getting started, you can leave most options at their default settings.
For your first run, leave Preview Only enabled. This lets you see what SongKong would change without actually modifying your music files.
5. Start processing
Select Start
SongKong loads and analyses the music within the selected folder. You can follow its progress while it is working.

6. Review the report
When SongKong finishes, it displays a report in your web browser.
The report gives you a summary of the results and lets you look in more detail at individual folders and songs.
Because you used Preview Only , your music files have not yet been changed.
7. Apply Preview
If you are happy with the results, you can run Apply Preview to apply the exact changes shown in the report to your music files. Alternatively you can run Fix Songs again with Preview disabled
