What does "Only allow match if all tracks in album were matched" mean?

I have read other forum threads on this topic, but I’m still confused. I just ripped a bunch of CDs including Bob Dylan’s Oh Mercy. I ran a Fix Songs run with “Only allow match if all tracks in album were matched.” However, it matched those tracks to https://musicbrainz.org/release/bbc040c9-7e1b-45e1-b9f5-40f2803ae4c3 and at the same time told me that all the tracks from the other discs weren’t present. So what does that option actually do? Since I’m reripping my whole collection from scratch and ensuring that each folder contains all of and only a single release, I thought this option would help. But it doesn’t seem to.

Usually it means only allow match if all songs on album are matched, but it doesn’t apply to boxsets with more than four discs because there is usually some issue that would prevent whole match to a boxsets, so we allow just full disc matches.

The bad match is to a set of three discs - or do you mean that the check box always means “only allow match if all tracks in a single disc were matched?” If so, maybe that would be a better description.

The checkbox means ‘only allow match if match to all tracks for albums with four or less discs, or complete discs only for albums with more than four discs.’

I guess there’s a bug, then, since it matched incompletely to a 3-disc set.

Okay please send your support files so I can look into your results

Hi, Im unable to progress this without support files please.

I just forced the match by hand, so no worries. Maybe it was user error.

Its up to you, but I don’t like leaving things unresolved in case there is a bug, if you could just send the support files so I can check that would be appreciated.
