of your library this is required for updating iTunes from songkong.
Happens a lot while trying the “delete duplicates” option. Then when it finally does finish it identifies all the duplicates but will not delete them with the following error in the report
“Problem with delete duplicates: org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: The object is already closed [90007-172]”
Please advise
I think the Itunes issue is now fixed for the next release, it can happen if you have a large iTunes library http://jthink.net:8081/browse/SONGKONG-795 - in the meantime if you can live without tight iTunes integration then disabling
the Save Changes to iTunes checkbox should fix that.
Then try File:Empty Database before running Delete Duplicates, if it does not please send me your support files Help:Create Support Files
I got the same error when trying to “delete the database” and when “save changes to iTunes” was unchecked. I just tried the new version and got the same error. Now i am re emptying the database and I will report back when thats finished.

the bizarre thing is that it clearly does find duplicates but will not delete them and acknowledge the dups it found

This maybe fixed in SongKong 3.10 - not entirely sure if its the same problem though.
still getting the error in both 3.10 and 3.11 and now it won’t even let me create the support files

I see your error but never seen this before, I’m not clear what is the underlying cause but SongKong had a problom loading some files during DeleteDuplicates and didnt deal withe error properly, this may be the issue, so I’ll try fixing this first

Does Delete Duplicates work if you try it on a small selection, single folder ?
yeah it still finds the duplicates but won’t delete no matter what the size of the folder is
Okay, a few more questions, if you give it a single folder:
Does it load all files in the folder okay ?
Does it finish of ts own accord or does it hang ?
Does it work if you run in Preview mode ?
Does it work if instead of deleting duplicates you set SongKong to move duplicates ?
for some reason when i change it to move the files to a certain folder it sort of works, but only in chunks, so I have just done the process multiple times to whittle away at my collection
Perhaps you could resend your support files t see if I can decipher this further.
It may now be fixed in 3.12 Im not quite sure.
