We are pleased to announce the release of SongKong 12.1 Autobahn, with some important new features and fixes
New Apply Preview task
The usual way of working with SongKong is that as a task is run the changes are saved to our files. If after reviewing the report we find any problems we have the option to selectively Undo Changes for any folder modified, we can do this even after a restart because modifications are also stored in the SongKong database.
But tasks can also be run Preview Only to create a report without actually changing any of the files. And now we can review the report and if we are happy with the results use the Apply Preview task to apply the changes exactly as showing in the report to our files for real.
This option has been requested by many customers and now allows you to fully check results before commiting to changes without having to rerun the original task. This is much better because if you have to re-run a task like Fix Songs it takes time and does not guarantee results will be identical
Webp Images
The webp format is becoming very popular for images on the web, we have now added support in Manual Edit task to allow Webp format images to be used, they are automatically converted to Jpeg images when added to our music files
Improve rendering of large to 200x200 images on report
Reports show 220x200 images of artist and album artwork but the rendering was not very good quality so that the images appeared quite blocky, we now use a new algorithm so these look much better
Retrieving wikipedia artist or release urls
A change on Wikipedia prevented SongKong from downloading artist images from Wikipedia, this issue has now been resolved.
