SK creating incomplete albumfolders, even if not told to

Hi there,

I used SK and Jaikoz a lot and I realy like it, as it helps me a lot getting my music-chaos organized and well titled

I also like the new features like “Only allow match if all songs in album were matched” as i hoped i would get some zombiefolders cleaned up.
But after a new run i can find a lot incomplete albums of that i hoped that tracks would just stay in the sourcefolders and not moved into new ones.

For example i can now find a listing like that:

001 - Rehab.mp3
002 - You Know I'm No Good.mp3
003 - Me & Mr Jones.mp3
004 - Just Friends.mp3
005 - Back to Black.mp3
006 - Love Is a Losing Game.mp3
007 - Tears Dry on Their Own.mp3
008 - Wake Up Alone.mp3
009 - Some Unholy War.mp3
010 - He Can Only Hold Her.mp3
011 - Addicted.mp3
songkong@omv:/media/3tbRaid/Media/Audio/moveToLibrary/Amy Winehouse# ls \\(2007\\)\\ Back\\ to\\ Black/
002 - Valerie.mp3
003 - Hey Little Rich Girl.mp3
Back to Black.mp3

The first folder look quite as i would like to, but the second folder doesnt match “if all songs in album were matched”, or do i missunderstand this option?

I thought maybe was just because of different releases of the same album, but then i found a completely incomplete artist-folder-structure:

(2002) Inferno
(2002) View From a Throne
(2001) Daimonion
(1998) ? ?
(2001) Timekiller
(1998) CHAKRARed!
(2002) Trialog
(2005) Kaskade (2 CD)
(1998) EonEon (2 CD)

./(2002) Inferno:
010 - I Am (A Thought in Slowmotion)(1).mp3
010 - I Am (A Thought in Slowmotion).mp3

./(2002) View From a Throne:
005 - Metamorphosis(1).mp3
005 - Metamorphosis.mp3

./(2001) Daimonion:
005 - We Are One (Mirror Split Up Into Pieces).mp3
011 - Citynight.mp3
001 - Daimonion (You Hear Me in Your Dreams).mp3

./(1998) ? ?:
008 - Endzeit.mp3
005 - Requiem.mp3
004 - Green World.mp3
009 - The Animal.mp3

./(2001) Timekiller:
007 - Timekiller (video edit original).mp3

./(1998) CHAKRARed!:
007 - Rush.mp3
011 - Celeste.mp3

./(2002) Trialog:
003 - Inferno.mp3

./(2005) Kaskade (2 CD)/CD 002:
005 - Schall und Rauch.mp3

./(1998) EonEon (2 CD)/CD 001:
011 - Wish.mp3
005 - Rescue.mp3

Any ideas?

Thanks for your great work

Regards, Thomas

If i can support issueanalysis with some more information, please let me know…

Yeah I think support files would be useful

created a run for both issues (incomplete folders and songs not fingerprinted) and exported the support-files for that.

Please let me know where to send them.

nah, forget/drop my stupid reply, saw the mailaddress seconds ago… my fault

I noticed the same thing as well when I tried to run a small batch. However this group of files was on my NAS which i typically dont run SK against.

The errors were all over the place in the log files. Multiple ones for different songs/albums of the following:

Problem submitting task::class com.jthink.songkong.analyse.analyser.MusicBrainzUpdateSongOnly:

Problem submitting task:M:\\work\\tofix\\Albert Ayler\\(2004) Holy Ghost (US):false:class com.jthink.songkong.analyse.analyser.MusicBrainzSongGroupMatcher1:
Problem submitting task:M:\\work\\tofix\\Wanda Jackson\\(1997) Tears Will Be the Chaser for Your Wine:false:class com.jthink.songkong.analyse.analyser.MusicBrainzSongGroupMatcher1:

Being that I dont know if its because its using files on a NAS or not, I am going to rerun it a second time after I have moved these files all over to a local drive and have jaikoz recombine the folders (mine to got split between matched, unmatched, and not moved. )

If there is problems with the local run, I will send you the support files. If not, I will move them back to the NAS and rerun them just to see if there might be some other issues that need to be looked at and send you those files.

i can’t find any errors in the logs.
My files are all stored on a server, but on that same server (debian) songkong runs on, as i had no luck with stability and performance, when using songkong on any windows-host

Odd, I found that mine worked fine on my windows box once i moved the files locally. They didn’t like to be modified on the linux based NAS.

@tk-germany have you checked your file permissions on your music and folders to make sure SK has complete access to them?

@greengeek: since i had some permissionproblems i run SongKong as root, so i’m sure there are no permission-issues

Any advancements for this issue?
I am facing the same “unexpected” results.

There should be a new release of SongKong within a week that will resolve some of these issues.

Yes, now done as part of SongKong 3.7

Hi, I think I am still facing an issue with the match full album feature.
To my understanding files are only matched and copied if all songs of an album are available. Optionally this can be limited to one folder.

However when running song kong over my collection I often receive incomplete directories…
This is also reflected in the Report:
My options:
Grouping:Replace if empty From Discogs Style, Max no of Genres 1
Only allow match if all songs in grouping match to one album
Only allow match if all tracks in album were matched

e.g.:
Enjoy Yourself - dd240c67-a57a-41bd-97b4-3d2d15b7095d, 4 songs of 2 (due to duplicates)
Universal Records, Cat No:UND 56232, CD

But the files are:
Rewind - 810cbecf-fc91-48ad-8613-e55838036cf1, 1 songs of 2 Public Demand, Cat No:PPDT 39, 12" Vinyl

and other…
It seems in some cases the match is done due to duplicates. So only the overall number of songs is considered instead of each acousticID, right?
Would it be possible to control the kind of album SongKong prefers?
I have a large collection, but most of the songs are duplicates. I would like to prefer complete albums (number of songs > 5) instead of single compilations…Esp. for Various Artist Collections…
I am using SK 3.12. but also bought Jaikoz

There is a bug in 3.12 http://jthink.net:8081/browse/SONGKONG-838 that allows incomplete Discogs matches, you may be seeing that and I plan a new release with a fix for that today or tomorrow.

Im not sure I follow the duplicates point, but SongKong tries to match all songs in a folder to one release, if that it is not possible but it find a folder contains duplicate songs it then strips out the duplicates and tries to match the remaining songs _ i think this is the correct behaviour.

Okay SongKong 3.13 now released.
