SK 11.5 bugs

A few bugs discovered so far:

  1. The first track of some albums is put into a separate folder + folder.jpg

  2. The matched artwork count stays at ‘0’ or low value

  3. Multiple disks are put in separate folders rather than amalgamated.

Thanks.

Hi, there are no chnages to the matching algorithm in this release so I dont think these are bugs introduced in this release, bu tthey may be existing bugs but I need evidence to progress this, could you please run Create Support Files and then on this forum thread direct me to examples of these issues please.

Supports files uploaded.

The artwork does match, but the count no longer suggests so.

can yo give me actual eamples of 1 and 3, i,e what folder / album has issue?

Thanks, so I havent worked out why happening but I noticed for the Muddy Waters/Phil Spector Fix Songs report report 3465, there were two errors

and this is causing updating of songs from MusicBrainz to fail after updating the first song so this is probably the cause of issues and will work on this as top priority

https://jthink.atlassian.net/browse/SONGKONG-2749

but im not aware of

(this used to be an old bug which you eventually fixed

that you refer to.

I think that is side effect of the bug, so only first song gets updated to MusicBrainz the other dont, so if the Year field for the MusicBrainz matches varies from the existing values you had for Year you are going to end up with two different values for Year field for that groups of tracks. So if you then rename the files based on the Year metadata you are going to end up with two different folders.

Found the issue, introduced a bug as part of https://jthink.atlassian.net/browse/SONGKONG-2734 working on a fix.

Im not clear what you mean?

It could be:

  • Progress Bar that runs whilst running task
  • Popup when task finishes
  • In Sumary tab Cover Art is x with x coverage. line
  • Bar in Artwork Completeness tab

and they all seem okay with my testing so far.

I have just re-released 11.5 on Windows with this fix, if possible would be great if you could test it. To install you would need to uninstall your existing 11.5 version first and then download and install new version, build date has changed from 09/05/2025 to 10/05/20205

To fix your issues you need to rerun FixSongs to fix the metadata, then RenameFiles should work as expected.

Since it is a serious bug I will then do a proper 11.5.1 release so all existing 11.5 users will get notified new release is available.

So Album field is in capitals not title case because that is artist intent, that is the album title, the track Title field such as Title are all in lowercase because again that is artist intent.

So when you rename you get the album part title in UPPERCASE and song title parts in lowercase

now fixed in 11.5.1 -
