Report not displaying some sections

Hi,

I just ran song kong (latest version (OS X)) on 62,000 songs.

It all ran OK, but the report it has generated won’t display the song changes or matches.

I can see ‘some’ files in the reports folder such as FixSongsReport00001_body__2d83MUXz54CqnuMXvshKg==.html

but there doesnt seem to be a FixSongsReport00001_index.html

That is quite alot of songs, its possible that there was a memory issue during the actual report creation. Can you send me the support files please (Help:Create Support Files)

DO I need to find and send them, or does the option actually send them to you?

I also has an issue when it was running that it kept saying it couldn’t create its iTunes model. It didn’t seem to affect anything other than the message popping up every 30 mins. I wasn’t updating iTunes as it was just running on a standalone copy of the data so I just ignored it. The processed data looks fine and it’s not a huge issue as I copied key fields such as title and artist to custom fields before starting so that I can see what changed from within the data set. It took a while generating the reports at the end, but finished normally without displaying errors.

If you are not using iTunes please disable Save Changes to iTunes on the Basic tab. I received your support file zip but it appears to be corrupt I cannot open it, can yo check at your end.

I set the iTunes setting because I don’t want numbered genres

No that a a different option you just need to set iTunes checkbox on the Save tab but not the Basic tab

Thanks for resending the log files, but is curious because there is no errors in the logs and it says it has created report fine, but the summary and some other sections are missing !

I just checked and I had disabled the itunes option on the basic tab?

I suggest you rerun FixSongs to see if the iTunes and Report issues have now resolved themselves

I just tried another test.

I emptied the database, clkeared the reports and logs and ran the same config on 319 songs,

The same problem has occurred - I cant actually view any of the matched items on the report.

I also had some very odd changes on the previous large run that hasn’t happenned on this one using the same data and config.

ie artist bt got changed to Rod Stewart! There are other strange changes too that makes me think there is a bug in SongKong where a value isnt being cleared in a certain situation and an existing incorrect value is being written. There are several examples where a sort by artist shows that an incorrect value
has been added to artist and song title that is actually the preceding artist and song title!

There are also a few album titles that have been changed to something that looks like unprocessed metadata, e,g formatcomposer;composer;composer:albumname
So Robbie Williams Swing When You’re Winning becomes:

Old Value:Swing When You're Winning
New Value:Weill;Rodgers;Arlen;Walker;Parks:Swing When You're Winning

Edit - I can see that the data has been tagged for this release as Classical so its probably a musicbrains issue! I re-ran it with the classical disabled and that part was OK. It looks like the best approach is to tag classical music separately in its own run.

I also removed all traces of song kong and re-installed and now the previous run on bt produces the correct report files??

Support files emailed!

Hi, I have no problems viewing the report you sent as screenshots below show, can you send me a screenshot so I can tell if there is a problem with the Javascript stylesheets.

I cant comment on the Rod Stewart example without more details, perhaps you could rematch and if still wrong send me support files again.

Robbie Williams issue is indeed due to it being marked as Classical. This is not actually a MusicBrainz issue since MusicBrainz doesn’t say whether a release is classical or not. Instead we use various heuristics in SongKong to make a decision and in this case we got it wrong, it quite difficult to do no other application (execpt Jaikoz) currently has this ability and we are still refining it. You can disable for a run on the Classical Music tab in order to get the release tagged as a regular album.

I dont have the report anymore as I deleted everything from Song Kong and re-installed as I stated above.

The small tests I’ve done since do work OK, so I’ll see what happens when I retry a bigger run later.

Thanks for help so far.
