I have a large number of songs to tag/repair and wanted to use a local Musicbrainz server to speed up the process.
Environment info:
iMac 27-inch, Late 2009
OSX 10.9 (Mavericks)
Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB
VM server
4 GB
2 cores
IP of host: 192.168.1.100 (static)
IP of VM server 192.168.1.108 (DHCP)
Song Kong: 1.13.0
Jaikoz 6.0.5
java version “1.6.0_65”
Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_65-b14-462-11M4609)
Java HotSpot™ 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.65-b04-462, mixed mode)
Musicbrainz VM server 2013-10-14
VirtualBox 4.3.2 r90405
Above OS and applications all current as of 2013-11-27.
Both Song Kong and Jaikoz work fine when using the MusicBrainz server at www.musicbrainz.org
I downloaded the VM Musicbrainz server (running on the same computer as the apps) and installed it using the instructions posted here and here. I reindexed the database, forced a replication and turned on automatic replication.
I pointed a browser to the VM server (192.168.1.108:5000) and got to the local Musicbrainz search page without issue. I was able to search and pull up data.
I then pointed Song Kong and Jaikoz to the VM server (http://192.168.1.108:5000) and for both apps I get a 503, Service unavailable error.
I don’t have any firewalls anywhere on my network and assume that the VM doesn’t have one since I can reach it via a browser.
What could I be doing wrong?
Thanks,
Mike
