ID3v1 is the original tagging system used with Mp3 files.
Specifies the default tag versions to save. What tags we save depends upon how we use the songs. ID3v1 is supported by most Audio applications however it is a very limited system, most applications now support ID3v2 tags in some form so there is a strong case for removing your ID3v1 tags from your file so you do not have two datasets to maintain.
For ID3v1 tags we can elect to remove them, always write them or to keep if already exist.
