Location of Post-Scan Files

My question concerns the location of post-scan files:
Here’s the scenario:

1. A HD
2. A folder on HD called X
3. And within X are subfolders 1 2 and 3
   If I scan X, in order to fix files within 1 2 and 3, then why––once the work is done––would I see a lot of new folders appearing outside of X, on the HD where they all sit?

I think you must have enabled Rename Metadata from Filename on the Basic tab, and not had the base folder/subfolder split set up correctly. The split is shown on the Basic tab and the rename mask will be used to replace the Sub Folder part whilst keeping the Base Folder part untouched.

Would be clearer if you could run Create Support Files please
