Install Error SongKong 5.11

Hi

I’m trying to upgrade previous version of SongKong to SongKong 5.11 on WHS2011 (Windows Server 2008).

I downloaded both exe and zip files.
In both cases no errors reported when I install.

But when I run SongKong I get two error messgages.

“blah, blah, MSVCR120.dll missing. Please reinstall program.”

and

“Error starting Java VM”

I searched on the Windows forum and there was advice to reinstall the Visual C++ redistributables. Should I do this?

Yes, I think so certainly wont do any harm.

This didn’t help, so I uninstalled Songkong and then tried reinstalling.

This seems to have fixed the problem.

Okay, thankyou for letting me know.

I am unable to start SongKong after the update. Says Error starting Java VM.

In the installation package where it shows that “Greyed packs need to be installed”, JVM is 0 bytes.

Is that the reason?

not sure, please try using the .zip version rather the .exe installer.

I had tried both the versions. Same result. I had also removed old versions of Java and installed the latest.

Is it something to do with the location of Java?

Java comes with SongKong so its not dependent on installing Java seperately
