Hi all,
This might affect other types of music and is probably driven by bad data quality in MusicBrainz / Discogs so I am trying to think how this could be addressed in a better way.
Say you are trying to automatically fix a Soundtrack album (or in fact any album with Various Artists).
Frequently the recognized tracks come back with either different Year entries for the same album or a missing Compilation flag resulting the album to be split into different folders i.e.
Soundtrack Z - Artist A (Year A)
Soundtrack Z - Artist B (Year A)
Soundtrack Z - Artist A (Year B)
etc.
Would there be a better way to have some rules for the recognition to say:
IF multiple artists are recognised within the tags of songs in a folder - enforce "Various Artists " for Albumartist tag. AND
IF varying years are recognised within the tags of songs in a folder -
leave out the year string
when applying rename Mask?
The current setup forces the user to run the initial recognition then to go back and create subfolders manually and sort the results based on whether Year / VA are correctly identified and then re-run again for each option.
