Discogs and too many files, disregarded as a release

Hi, I was trying to find the reason that several of my releases that I know are in Discogs, but not MB are not getting matched.

I saw this error in the logs and I suspect is the reason, is there any way to override or increase the threshold?

09/01/2015 16.21.58:com.jthink.songkong.analyse.musicbrainz.FindReleaseCandidateNames:queryForCandidateReleases:SEVERE: Disregarding House Blend 4 as a release name because contains too many files

I can successfully match the album in Jaikoz to a Discogs release, but SK refuses to find and match it (and many others)

Thanks!

Hmm, could you possibly email me the files so I can test this out myself.

PM sent…

Hi, that particular message is not actually the problem. When trying to find potential releases SongKong looks at the existing metadata in the files as as well as the folder name to find the release. But if a folder contains more than 50 files we dont use the foldername as at that point it is more likeley to not represent an album ( although I know it does in your case).

You have the album name in the metadata already but the problem is actually the quote amrk in ‘bam’s’. SongKong does a fuzzy search on each word in the release title instead of expecting an exact match, but it turns out fuzzy match doesnt work if the value contains an quote mark.

I fixed that and now SongKong matches the release (as long as you disable Only allow match if all tracks on album matched becaue you only have 53 of the 53 songs)

New release should be sometime this week.

Sorry that part is incorrect, after failing to match to a MusicBrainz release we check to see if there are duplicate songs preventing a match and because you have two songs called L.O.V.E by Alex Pearce they are marked as duplicates and the group of songs is split into two groups of 1 and 52, so only 52 songs get passed to the Discogs song group matcher and therefore fail to match if Only allow match if all tracks on album matched

When finding duplicates by metadata I need to consider track length, Ive raised http://jthink.net:8081/browse/SONGKONG-790 this would resolve the issue. However if the release really did have two tracks with same name and same length and no match was found on Musicbrainz I dont think there is anything I could do to stop them being marked as duplicates before being sent to Discogs.

Now fully fixed for next release.

Excellent, thank you for getting this fixed so quickly!

Just wanted to update, since using 3.8 SK has found and matched a whole slew of new albums in my unsorted folders that 3.7 and earlier could not find. Thanks!
