Database Corrupt message prevents SonkKong use

Installed SongKong on a OpenSuse box. Each time I try to run it, it stops with a message that the database is corrupted. A zero byte file “database.delete” is created in my Prefs folder, but deleting it doesn’t change anything.

I was able to run SonkKong in an Arch Install before.

I have reviewed the logs and there is nothing obvious that should cause such a problem, have you tried as reboot in case database is being held on to by a dead thread.

The issue is due to an incorrectly configured hosts file, and a call made by 3rd party library used for SongKongs database (Hibernate) that requires the localhost to be configured correctly

(Instructions on how to run on linux since problem has not been seen on PC or Mac so far.) If running the attached test program

cd songkong/jre64/bin
./java Addresses

gives an error similar to:

java.net.UnknownHostException: hostname: hostname: Name or service not known

then you have an issue and need to add an entry to /etc/hosts for the hostname
