can't find multiple, but can find single song??

First off, this is a great app… wish I found this a while ago as I spent nearly 4 months going through my song lists and correcting them… anyhow…

Sometimes while in iTunes I grab bunch of songs, drag and drop into the app and scan… The result comes back with nothing found, but If I then drop one file at a time onto the window, the scan comes back with a result?? (These are all individual tracks)

Why is this happening??

Hi, if you try and match a group of songs and they are in the same folder then SongKong will assume they are from the same album, and the default options will not allow match unless a match could be found for all songs to the same album. If you are only trying to match one song at a time then it doesnt need to consider this restriction.

Could this be the problem ?

Hi Paul, yes thats probably the problem. I have a folder full of mp3s, some of them may belong to some albums (EP) and some of them single mp3 tracks. Should I be telling song kong these tracks may not necessarily be in the same album.

Also, while I’m here… if I want these albums grouped and placed into a labeled folder generated by Song Kong, I gather this is possible?

Thanks

If you have lots of files in a single folder you can run SongKong against all of them and it should work out they are from loads of different releases and ignore the Only allow match if all songs in album were matched (on the first Fix Songs tab). But if you are only matching a few at a time it will not ignore the option so you would need to disable it (but don’t disable if trying to match songs already grouped by album).

Yes, just enable Rename files based on metadata when matched on the Basic Tab. You can decide exactly how songs are matched by using additional options on the File Naming tab.
