On some albums when they are matched the song matching is correct however there will be multiple track 1s track 2s etc… I was thinking is this maybe because of various differences in different countries releases of an album? in any case whatever it is is there a way to stop it?

You mean multiple 1s because you have some duplicate tracks/multiple versions of the album ?

No the track names are different but SongKong has named them both track 1, track 2 etc

that’s an example and follows this pattern to the end of the album :-/
Oh, you mean the filename.
By default Songkong doesnt actually rename files but assuming that you have changed options so it does then please check what rename mask you are using.
If you are unsure about all this just run Help:Create Support Files and I will look for you.
The rename mask I am using looks correct in that it is doing:
Track number - Album Artist - Song Title .mp3
its to do with the matching thats the problem in that some albums it matches tracks with multiple track numbers :-/
Is there a decent log I can look at to see how it matched? a verbose log?
Is it maybe that this is a multi-disc album, so you have disc 01, track 01, disc02, track01 and you are only seeing the trackno ?
I wondered this but that album I used as an example was only ever released as a single disk :-/

Just had a quick look at your reports Report 35. If you click on Matched to MusicBrainz and look at Richard Ashcroft you can see it is actually matched to a 2x Vinyl release, hence a two disc release

Quite why it matched to this rather than the 10 track CD release I dont know , but i think this is your issue togather with the fact that you are using

Yes I changed the Plex mask slightly to suit my own however it should still be putting the tracks in folders so if it matched a 2 disk vinyl it should have put them in folders Disk 01, Disk 02 etc however it hasnt :-/ Whats your thoughts?
I checked your version of Plex Mask and your version doesnt contain DiscNo and doesnt split into Disc subfolders so SongKong is doing what is meant to. By contrast your Compilation Rename Mask does do this hence why you would get this behaviour for compilations(that includes single artisst Best Of Albums) but not regular albums.
