I’m curious why these are included in SK given there’s no metadata that’s going to be coming from any tag sources for these?
Why roon tags?
So there are two Roon specific tags that can be edited oustide of Roon the Roon Album Tag and the Roon Track Tag. We added them to SongKong becauser we have alot of Roon customers who use SongKong before importing into Roon because it improves matching significantly.
The Roon Album tag is sometimes used by Roon users when they add box sets to identify the album as a boxset because there is no specific setting in Roon, but they want an easier to way to find them. We can do this automatically by enabling the Add RoonAlbumTag to albums identified as boxsets option, we consider an album a boxset if it has at least 4 discs.
Roon Album tag and Roon Track Tag can also be modified using Manual Edit task or Scripter task as required.
Aah, I recall Roon’s inability to handle box sets properly. One of many issues that eventually led me to abandoning a lifetime license.
