I notice on some Jazz tagging in SongKong, I get the genre (8) or (30). I changed this manually, but why was this happening. It happened on Miles Davis Friday Night at the Blackhawk and Kind of Blue.

The ID3v1 specification has a list of predefined genres that should be recognized by their number. However you can use the Always save genre as text option on the Save tab to always write as text.
Where are you seeing the genre displayed as number?
