Hello,

I get this message on 30+ songs in my library when I do an ‘Add Folder’:
WARNING: The following audio files are not recognised as audio files, they may be corrupt:

This warning comes up when I open my entire library of 9,000+ songs.
These are all m4p files, but I have plenty of other m4p files that did get loaded. I can play these files fine in iTunes and they don’t appear to be corrupt.
Question:
Why am I getting this error?
Can I fix the files/error?
It only shows me the first 30 that didn’t get loaded, where can I find the complete list?

Hi, there are a couple of variations of mp4 files that Jaikoz has problems with, these have been fixed for the release out next week, so hang on.

You can see the complete list of files that were not loaded by looking in the console at the bottom of the screen, and all output from the console is also stored in the jaikoz-user0-0.log file.

Thanks Paul.

…looking at the log, there are both m4a and m4p files.
Should I assume that issues with the m4a files might be addressed as well?

I almost expected issues with m4p as those are DRM protected itunes songs… but the m4a should not unprotected.

The issue is not related to whether they are drm or not - Mp4s (m4as) can be created in a wide variety of ways. There isnt one standard way to do it for example the actual audio is normally stored near the end of the file after the tagging data, but sometimes it is stored near the start of the file before the tagging data. the complexity of Mp4 is one reason why there are not as many taggers for mp4 as there are for mp3.
