Jaikoz 12.6 on macOS 26.6, Apple Silicon.
The lowercase “v” glyph is missing throughout the entire UI:
“Save” is displayed as “Sa e”, “Version” loses its v, and filenames
such as “medved” are displayed as “med ed”.
I reset macOS fonts, restarted the Mac, reset Jaikoz preferences,
tested Light and Dark appearance, and tested with
-Dsun.java2d.metal=false. The problem remains.
"v" character not displayed in the text
Please copy text displayed as Sa e from Jaikoz and paste it into TextEdit.
- If it pastes as Save , the underlying text is correct and the problem is entirely visual.
- If it pastes as Sa e , then something much stranger is happening before rendering
Have you installed any third-party font manager, custom San Francisco font, UI theme utility, or manually downloaded version of a standard macOS font?
A duplicate or user-installed font can interfere with font selection.
Maybe an issue with FontBook
- Open Font Book .
- Choose File → Validate Selection or Validate All Fonts .
- Resolve any fonts reported with serious errors.
- In Font Book → Settings , choose Reset Fonts / Restore Standard Fonts .
- Restart the Mac.
