Using the options, settings, etc., how do I make it so that Jaikoz looks up and tags my songs based on their acoustic fingerprints alone and not based on their already-exising tags, their already-existing metadata, their already-existing information, etc? And how can I make it integrate/use looking up and tagging based on acoustic fingerprints more? NOTE: IF you think there are any concerns with looking up and tagging based on acoustic fingerprinting alone, let me know, too. (But first tell me how to do the first thing I asked, regardless). Thanks.
Use Acoustic Fingerprinting Only
Ok, to make Jaikoz use the acousticId only and populate with matches regardless of whether there is any metadata match:
Delete any values from the artist, album, title and track number columns
Select Settings/Tags from MusicBrainzSettings, and ensure the ‘Use single match even if no metadata match’ and ‘Use best guess match even if no metadata match’ are enabled, by default they are not.
The problem with this approach is that the acousticIds often match more than one unrelated track, and if you ignore your metadata completely it will be pot luck whether it matches the correct one in these cases.
However, if you dont do the first step above( keep your metadata) when you do the match it will use the metadata to filter the acousticIds , then if no matches are made at all it will repeat the query using only the acousticId to ensure that the meta data doesnt prevent a possible acousticid match, to return possible matches. At this point as long as there was at least one possible match if you have enabled the options described above your tags will be updated.
These options are not enabled by default because they will increase false positives, but the results should still be reasonable.
In the New Year, Jaikoz will use a new even more accurate acousticId (Puid) system from MusicBrainz.
