Update just only Albums

Hi, superb software. Just bought it few hours ago.
It�s very easy to update tags when it is just a full album but I am experiencing some problems to do the following:

I have downloaded 100 songs from 1985. All of them have the right artist name and song name but a wrong album name. The album name for all of them is 100 songs from 1985. I want to lock date, artist name and song name in order to update album name. is it possible or not? I cannot do it with Local Correct function. This will help me to find the right cover because I want to put the original one when the album was released for first time.

Hi Dave

If you know the album name is completly wrong delete the album name field so that its not incorrectly used in trying to find a match. Then run Autocorrecter to try and get a match from Musicbrainz.

If you don’t want fields you have already completed to be overwritten then change the settings in Preferences/Musicbrainz/Autoformat to the ‘Populate this field ionly if empty’

I have been trying these days your tip but it’s really tricky because there are many releases of the same tracks and some of them are several seconds smaller or bigger and Jaikoz is fooled mixing covers from other albums but I suppose it takes time to get used to this superb software. You have tons of fuctions to fine-tune your search. One drawback is low resolution covers but I use Album Cover Finder that blows away any other software for finding covers.
