My digital music collection is already well tagged but it doesn’t have any genre tags.
Is there a way to make SK update genre tags without altering filenames, tagged album art, or any other tags that aren’t genres?
Update genres tags only
You can prevent artwork being updated by disabling Update artwork, and filenames are not modified anyway unless you have Rename files based on metadata when matched.
You cannot prevent SongKong modifying fields such as artist or title name, SongKong has to match the songs to the correct release in order to update the genres from Discogs and once songs matched the fields are updated. This shouldn’t really be a problem if the song is already matched little should actually change but what you could do is use the preview option to check.
If you really need to ONLY modify genre and nothing else this cannot currently be done in SongKong, it is possible in Jaikoz though.
