Unable to Open Latest Release, Jaikoz 12.6 Elastica

I installed this last night and it seemed to open once, albeit with two windows at the same time that didn’t work. I restarted my machine (Windows 11), and this morning, I am not able to open Jaikoz at all, but I received the attached error message.

Hi, if you are on Windows the try renaming C:\Users\username\Jaikoz\settings.properties to C:\Users\username\Jaikoz\settings.old and then restarting Jaikoz to see if that resolves it.

Unfortunately, that did not work, and I receive the same error when attempting to open the application.

I also just restarted the machine and received the same exact popup error.

Okay please email support@jthink.net the C:\Users\username\Jaikoz\Logs\jaikoz-debug0-0.log file

The debug file is on the way, if you have not already received it.

Thank you.

Thanks, okay try renaming C:\Users\username \Jaikoz\layout.properties to C:\Users\username \Jaikoz\layout.old and retrying.

Unfortunately, I am still receiving the same popup error. I opened it, same error, and then I restarted the machine and still received the same popup error.

Okay I think you’ll have to reset to default settings as follows:

  • Go to C:\Users\username\Jaikoz folder
  • Copy license.jai to somewhere else so you have copy of license
  • Delete C:\Users\username\Jaikoz folder
  • Restart Jaikoz
  • It will copy over configuration from C:/Program Files/Jthink/Jaikoz
  • Reinstall license using saved license.jai file

Thank you. That worked. It opened. Not your fault, but doing that completed erased my save configurations, columns, menu items up top. I am grateful it now opens. Thank you.

PS. Is there a way to save those onfigurattion things, because it’s been a while since upgrading from one version to another where such things aren’t saved (this occasion being an exception due to the inability to open it originally.)
