Previously I could never get multiple genres to work with WMP12 & Windows Media Center. WMP would always remove all genres except the first one after the files were added to its Library (it did keep the additional ones for .WMA files).
However if you enter multiple genre values as one line separated by semicolons “;” your songs will correctly appear in multiple genre groups.
(Suggestion to Paul: Perhaps my workaround below could be done automatically via adding a “Save genres in WMP/Media Center friendly format” tick-box to Jaikoz’s Preferences\Compatibility tab.
In the meantime this is my workaround:
- Use the “Grouping” to hold my multi genre values (it’s already comma delimited).
- Empty the Genre column then copy n paste the contents of the Grouping col to it.
- Use Jaikoz Find/Replace on the Genre col to replace all commas with semi commas.
