Tags not saving and songs reverting to old info

I installed Jaikoz several days ago and quickly bought the full version. I love the program, and it has made what I thought was an impossible task fairly easy.

However, I have discovered one very irritating problem. I will load my music, update the tags, I’ll save the songs, change the file names to reflect the accurate information and think I’m done. I’ll come back a few hours later and volia’ all the tag information has magically reverted back to what it was before.

The songs this is happening with are from songs ripped off CDs I made, and it’s getting incredibly irritating to deal with. I’m running a Vista home premium laptop if that helps at all.

Come back to what - Jaikoz, this doesnt make any sense.

My computer, Jaikoz, WMP whatever doesn’t matter. I can look at the song in Jaikoz, WMP or in at the actual file and it’s all the old info back and the new info is no where to be found. It’s like something is reverting the files back to the old info.

Please send me your support files (using Action/Create Support Files) . It seems to be that either your not actually saving changes/or the save is failing/or some other application is changing the files.

Ok, I’ve e-mailed you the logs, the e-mail will show up as being from the same name as my user name here, Aidey.

Okay having looked at the logs there are problem with saves, but these errors are being reported to you when you try and save, nothing magically changes back the save didnt work in the first place !

I think you have a problem with permissions on your folders in
C:\Users\test\Music

Please check the permissions and special permissions on this folders and subfolders, I expect some special deny permissions have beeen setup on the folders.

No permissions have been changed for those folders. I just checked them and all permissions are set to default.

The problem is still happening. It is happening exclusively with songs that are ripped from burned CDs. I’ve tried deleting them and re-ripping them, but the problem is still occurring.

I’ll load Jaikoz, and there will be things like

Track 01 Unnamed album 1/8/09
Track 02 Unnamed album 1/8/09
Track 03 Unnamed album 1/8/09

I will rename them all, save the tags, make sure the ID3 tags changed, save again, and close the program.

Later when I go back to do more songs, all the ones I named are back listed as

Track 01 Unnamed album 1/8/09
Track 02 Unnamed album 1/8/09
Track 03 Unnamed album 1/8/09

as if none of the tags saved.

But from your logs errors were shown when you tried to save some of your files, didnt you get an error message display when you attempted to save the files in the first place.

You say it only happens you have riped, are these files in a different location to your other files. If so try moving the files and see if that makes a difference.

I got the error message, but the songs in those cases are not the songs this is happening to.

The error message only shows the first thirty songs in a popu window, but all songs are listed in the console window, so I suspect that these songs happened not to be in the first thirty songs.

You need to work on a few songs, and double check your permissions to identify what is going wrong here. try moving the ongs to a different location if it then works this indicates a problem with the permissions i the original location.

This is happening even if I only do one song, and no error window pops up.

Okay, do me a test please.
Try and save chnages to one song, then send me your support files using Action/Create Support Files with details of the song you tried to change. I will reinvestigate your logs.
