I am not having any luck fixing songs that don’t have any names already.
When I listen to the track sometimes I recognize the name and artist which makes me think something is wrong in my settings. I even added permissions and added allow the program in my firewall settings. I had great luck with earlier versions of SK, but no joy lately.
Still having issues to "fix songs"
Hi, thanks for your support files I think it might be two things combining to give poor results:
- Looking at the last few reports I assume the 25 songs you are trying to match do not constitute an album, they are just a random set of songs. If so this negates albums based matchng based on existing metadata/folder names. If they do in fact constitute an album than please give Match to One Album task a go.
- Your options as set do allow for single song matching, but in the absense of much metadata this relies heavily on Acoustids, and even though these are common songs they do not appear to have Acoustids that match anything in the database. I notice you are using something to record songs from streaming and I think the problem is that tool is either not getting the start and end of track quite right or the overall recording quality is poor and this is preventing many Acoustid matches.
When it was working before was that for songs that had been recorded using the same tool?
Thanks for the quick response,
#1 correct they were various artists
#2 Yes these were streamed with cinch recorder as mp3 300+ bps, sound quality was decent for mp3, beginning and ending sound right. One song was a cut from a live version of the Doors with a very different intro.
A few years back when SK was working I was using a different app that was no longer available.
I will try and see if wave files or flac files work better and check to see if Sidify works better (though most songs already have pertinent data). I also will check some older cd’s that were ripped from my collection.
I will keep you posted with my progress
