MusicBrainz is a our gold metadata standard, and even when MusicBrainz does not have all releases for an artist they do probably have the artist. So I think MusicBrainz is the best resource for getting consistent Artist names and we plan to extend Artist Matcher functionality to correct artist names even when we cannot finding a match release.
Last.fm is primarily track based, SongKong is primarily release based so not a good match. Again the quality of MusicBrainz data is much better than Last.fm so I cannot see us doing any integration with Last.fm
