Hello, at first, maybe my question is because I don’t understand how it works. My apologies in advance ;-). I fixed a collection of 14K individual songs. At the end I saw 0 songs had an acoustic id (acoustid). I’m using Songkong Pro. Isn’t that strange?
With regards, Onno
Songkong Pro and Acoustid
Hi, most have got AcoustIds, why don’t you think so ?
Please see screenshot from View As Spreadsheet for FixSongsReport00052

Hi, because I see 0 (zero) after Songkong has fixed a disc (see picture). It says: Songs matched to Acoustid release
. Or do they mean “album” when it says “release”?
Kind regards.
Hi, Songs fingerprinted is the count of Acoustids generated.
Okay so Acoustid is just one method used to match songs, and there are four levels of songs identification, and any song can only be in one of them. Note that although the Acoustid database is associated with the MusicBrainz database, it is independent and much larger so there are many songs in the Acoustid database that are not linked to songs in the MusicBrainz database. But we prefer songs linked to MusicBrainz songs because the MusicBrainz database is much more indepth and metadata rich then the Acoustid database
The four levels are:
MusicBrainz release
Songs in grouping that were successfully matched to a MusicBrainz release
MusicBrainz song only
Songs was successfully matched to a MusicBrainz song, but we could not find an album that all songs in the grouping could be matched to songs were only matched to a MusicBrainz song not a MusicBrainz release
Acoustid release
Songs in grouping that were matched by fingerprint to a common Acoustid album
Acoustid song only
Songs in grouping that were matched by fingerprint to a track in Acoustid, but not to a common Acoustid album or a MusicBrainz song
This is shown in the summary barchart of Fix Songs, notice in this example the MusicBrainz bar is in two shades of blue, and the legend beneath shows the two shades refer to two of the levels.
