SongKong or Jaikoz for adding original year to individual songs not albums

I downloaded both programs, with Jaikoz I was able to add 20 random songs, then used musicbrainz & discogs to find the actual 1st year. All my songs are just single tracks, half have remixes, all remixes are original names. Jaikoz does get most right, I then copy the original years from “dates” & paste over the years in “info” this was my first success of replacing the years, if there’s a better solution I will use that. Now I tried SongKong but you don’t let us even edit 1 song, so I don’t know which 1 is better?

I need to edit 100% of the years embedded in the .mp3, they are all years from “best of” or “compilations” so they are all wrong, discogs seems to have the right “original” years.

I will buy which ever program is better, plus what is the best way to rename 1,000’s of .mp3’s, just changing the year?

thank you

Hi, yes if you enable the Put Original Year into Year field option it will do that automtically for you.

SongKong is primarily designed for automated matching and scripting, you can do manual editing but it is folder based, so you can select a folder containing your songs, select the Manual Edit task and just edit the songs you want but manual editing is probably more intuitive in Jaikoz

You can use either, I usually recommend SongKong for automated tagging, its algorithm is currently more advanced than Jaikoz and due to its design it can handle large collections better. But if you think you will be doing much manual editing then Jaikoz is better for that, many customers use both tools.
