SongKong Experience and Seeking Advice on Music Server Setup

Hello fellow music enthusiasts, I recently purchased the SongKong application, and I’m quite impressed. In the past, I’ve experimented with various programs to organize my classical music collection, which consists of tens of thousands of MP3 files. Paul’s guidelines convinced me that this was the right path to take. So far, my experience has been pleasant, and the program is useful and user-friendly. I’ve also occasionally used Jaikoz, which I find equally satisfactory.
I don’t own high-end HiFi equipment. My music listening needs are simple: I want to be able to search and play music in different rooms of my house or while I’m on the go (in hotels or at friends’ places). From what I’ve gathered, the MinimServer and UPnP control point music browsers aren’t particularly suitable for my needs. Instead, I’ve currently set up a Navidrome server on my NAS and installed the Symfonium app on my phone and tablet. My setup works, but I’m curious about other options. I’d greatly appreciate hearing opinions and advice from experienced users on this matter. Are there better alternatives for my use case? Any tips or recommendations for improving my current setup? Looking forward to your insights!

Hi. to get a reply I think we need a bit more detil, how do you use Symfonium it seems it is a player rather than a server so how do you serve music to it ?

Why is MinimServer uPnp server not suitable for your needs ?

Hi Paul!

I’m not tied to any client apps, Symfonium was just an example - with that I listen to music on my mobile phone to songs stored under Plex.

My problem is that I couldn’t find any instructions on how to solve my situation. I have a Synology NAS where the music is, that’s where the music server should be running. On the one hand, I want to listen to music on the Blootooth-connected speakers in the apartment - how? On the other hand, if I’m on the go, I can listen to it from my mobile phone via headphones - what should the Android client be? Maybe also on the TV while in hotel: how? It would be good to see a guide for this.

I re-read your first post, okay so you are using Navidrome which is a subsonic server, subsonic is an alternative to uPnP server. But im not that familar with Subsonic and unclear if your solution works for you or not?

may you can find a solution here

this means
on NAS install Minimserver, BubbleUPnP Server
On Android, install BubbleUPnP
Read instructions carefully

Thank you! will try this, sounds good
