Song count increasing on filesystem

Im new to songkong so im probably doing something wrong.
I run fix songs
then i run bandcamp match
then i run fix charset encoding
then i run rename
then i run delete duplicates.

when its done i have more physical files then when i started.

i have unmached files move to a folder called unmatched. i noticed first run /unmatched. next run /unmatched/unmached and so on… and each time the unmatched folder contains a copy of unmatched files

what am i doing wrong?

How have you come to conclusion you have more files than you started with, isn’t it simply that a unmatched file is being moved to /unmatched then next time is being moved again to /unmatched/unmatched ectera.

Next time you run Rename Files make sure the base folder is set the current active unmatched folder, e.g /unmatched/unmatched/unmatched to see if that sorts it out.

My collection is a mess. over time with iTunes and other tools to manage the files it has grown. Backing up and not wanting to accidentally delete things i have ended up growing the files. I had about 38k files then ended up with 60k files. After running the de-dupe i expected to be back near 38k but somehow I’m at 80k then 120k. I feel like maybe I’m taking steps in the wrong order but since i post the first message about this i have been able to reduce the duplication by running things in different ways. One thing i did was move the unmatched files outside of the folder structure of the matched files.

If you can upload your support files when your current job finishes that will make things clearer. Please bear in mind that logs get recycled and only the last few reports get uploaded so if you delay sending support files the evidence for older issues may no longer be there.

its already too late then. ill upload them next time the error pops up

Well it might not be, anyway it would allow us to understand this additional files issue in your other post.

Thanks for support files, I looked at your Rename Files reports

Rename Files0005 shows 2750 songs in unmatched folder
Rename Files0011 shows 2558 songs in unmatched folder
Rename Files0018 shows 2549 songs in unmatched folder

So the file count seems to be decreasing not increasing
