My log is full of errors similar to the following:
Opening that URL in a browser from the same machine results in a valid XML response so it’s not a network nor musicbrainz issue.

My 32 bit machine exhibits this same behavior.
A wireshark capture reveals that the HTTP calls being sent and musicbrainz is replying.
I think it is a Musicbrainz problem, they are having a few sporadic issues with network overloading and a bug causing them to return not a Server Busy but an Invalid Query error.
When you try the same query in a browser of course it works because the error is sporadic.
Thanks for the reply. I’ll keep trying to see if they resolve the problem. Strange that others have not reported this issue. You’d think if it’s a musicbrainz problem it should be affecting others as well.
It is affecting others and I talked to Rob Kaye the CEO of Musicbrainz about it only yesterday
