Save/moving from one server to another

hey everyone.

I’ve currently got Jiakoz sorting through a big folder of unsorted/unorganized stuff and moving it over into a “sorted” folder. I’ve been able to get this working with a folder structure like:

/music
----/unsorted
-------/ unsorted music folders
-------/ some more unsorted music folders
----/sorted
-------/ band a
-------/ band b
-------/ band c etc.

Basically, as I’ve only been able to get it to work when the unsorted stuff was in the same root level as the sorted folder.

Now i’ve got lots of stuff that’s over on a whole seperate hard-drive and I want to load it into jaikoz, clean up the tags and have it sort into this “sorted” folder. Other mp3 taggers will just let you pick the folder where things save to but I haven’t been able to find anything like that in Jaikoz. Am I missing something obvious here?

I’ve paid for Jaikoz and am finding it really lovely, just a little unclear interface wise If anyone can help me out here, I’d really appreciate it.

Hi are you using File/Save and Move because this lets you move your files from one location to another whilst preserving the subfolder hireachy underneath (if you want).

The only difficulty is for Jaikoz to work out how much of the folder hirechy you replicate. For example say you have correct
/music/unsorted/u2/Joshua tree

and you want to move to
/music/sorted/u2/joshua tree

you would just select /music/sorted as your destination

But how does Jaikoz know to create as
/music/sorted/u2/joshua tree

rather than
/music/sorted/unsorted/u2/joshua tree

This is the puprose of the BaseFolder/SubFolder column - only values in SubFolder get created as part of the subfolder hierachy. You can create this split when you load the folders by adjusting the value of Specify the number of folders to set base Folder to in the Open Folder dialog.

You can modify the split by using Action/File and Folder Correct/Shift Base Folder to Subfolder and Shift Base Folder to SubFolder

BTW if anyone can think of a better way of solving this issue please let me know
