Russian Character support

Hi,

I am working on Mac OS X 10.5, all latest updates installed.

I have some mp3 audio files, they are of two types:

  1. some have filenames in native russian alphabet, with id3 tags in latin
  2. some have id3 tags in native russian alphabet, with filenames in latin.

I want to get all of those in native russian, so I ran “get tags from filenames” on the first, and “get filenames from tags” on the second. It doesn’t seem to work.

Is this functionality supported? Is it expected to be added in the future?

By default “get tags from filenames” will not overwrite fields that are not empty and of course it will only work if the name of the file matches the pattern in the mask. So please make sure you have unchecked Preferences/Correct tags from Filename/Only populate fields if empty and that the mask is correct, could you provide me with an example of a filename and the mask you are using so I can confirm it is correct.

How doesnt it work, is the filename field changing, have you saved the changes (the filename wont change on the disk until you save changes)

  1. Thanks, this was the issue - the mask was a little screwy, and the checkbox was on.

  2. I was doing something wrong - I tried it again and it seems to have worked.
