Renaming folder

Hi guys,

I’m having problems with Jaikoz where it won’t use the year as the folder name.

I want:

E:\Music\1990\Artist - Title.mp3

and I have set both masks in “Rename Folder from Metadata” to

year

on its own.

Both masks in “Rename file from metadata” are set as

artist + ’ - ’ + title

For some reason, when it saves the tagged mp3s, it takes the name of the folder they were in so I get the following structure:

E:\Music\pop\Artist - Title.mp3

Any help would be appreciated.

Note: I have year set to obtain itself from originalyear if that makes a difference

Original year and year are different tags. Did you verify that the original year was had data for those songs? Most tracks typically have year, but most programs don’t grab the original year. I think even with jaikoz you have to check a box to do additional searches to get the original year within the preferences. Do you have that option checked?

Also is your goal to just have all your music broken down into years? With what you are describing it sounds like a lot of albums would be broken apart into different years folders, especially compilations and greatest hits type albums.

It looks like you are not actually running Action:File and Folder Correct:Correct Sub Folders from Metadata, you need to run this to actually change your foldernames before you save changes
