Rename without metadata correction

Sorry if this is discussed elsewhere; I searched the forums but did not find anything applicable.

I have a large database (125k+ tracks) that I am trying to move into Plex. SongKong’s rename function is perfect for that task. A significant number of my albums do not match MusicBrainz and Discogs – mostly older jazz reissues – but I have curated the metadata carefully.

As I understand it the rename function is only available if SongKong has found metadata for the album being processed.

Is there a way to cause SongKong to rename files based on existing metadata, either directly or when a match is not found?

Hi Stu youve understod things right and unfortunately you cant do what you want at the moment, but it is on the list of improvements we want to make

I have actually already made a comment with Plex in mind, we need to get this done, Ive raised the priority.

You could do this with Jaikoz (which uses a very similar format for rename masks)

Thanks for the quick response. I did not realize Jaikoz could do this … I have Jaikoz and will take a look.

I tnink you are wise to up the priority … Plex is an imcreasingly attractive option.
