Rename is splitting compilations/various artists into folders based on the artist rather than under the artist - “Various Artists”.
Using this option (for Plex):
Is there a way to stop this, or does it occur if the program can’t tell if it is a compilation (though that should happen if Album artist is Various Artists?)?

I suspect for the albums getting split you dont actually have a value for Album Artist field but if yo could send the support files i can check properly for you.
Thank you, I presume so also, I think I need to check the metadata of albums before fedding to SK rename and ensure VARIOUS ARTISTS is the album artist, though if SK edits the metadata first based on what it finds, then that might be a bit odd.
Also, finding when I request “Add to msuicbrainz” a good number of the albums/EPs (around 20% of the msuicbraiz pages that SK actioned yesterday) are already present (in musicbrainz in the “Release duplicates” tab), so I open the album and change my audio’s metadata to the already present musicbrainz metadata, though odd that the albums are there, exactly as SK fills about the page, though SK can’t find them in the musicbrainz db.

Hi, thanks you have Rename files based on metadata set to Yes if has metadata but a safer option that would ensure AlbumArtist set would be to restrict to Yes, if matched to a release

Seems the problem is that album artist wasn’t Various Artist.
If SK edits metadata so it ends up like this, instead of Various Artists, I guess we should check all potential various artists albums before renaming.
What about albums with 2 artists only - wonder if we should rename those to “Various Artists” as well, which would seem a bit over the top, though for plex/renaming may have to.
Hi, these songs have not been matched by SongKong, that is why they are in your E:\Untagged folder. SongKong guarantees that when a group of songs is matched to an album the Album Artist field is set to the same consistent value for all songs in the match. But these songs have not been matched by Fix Songs. Actually they were not renamed by RenameFiles172 either, but if they were renamed by a previous run this would be because of the existing metadata and because rename did not restrict to only renamed matched albums
