Is there a way to have a song be tagged by it’s original release date?

Example, the song is from a Greatest Hits Album released in 1999 but the song itself was originally released in 1971.

I thought I had the proper settings to do this but I didn’t get the results to do this.

Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have MusicBrainz:Format:Put Original year into Year enabled field enabled, and was the release successfully matched to MusicBrainz ?
