Red Status label

I’ve run into this twice, not sure what is happening. The first time I chalked it up to making/ testing changes with my naming masks… but this last one is confusing.

Had a track that wasn’t getting properly matched. I manually matched with Discogs, then found it in MB. The first attempt didn’t find it, second attempt did. However, after that happened the status turned red and I guess it’s an eraser icon because when you save with that red status it deletes the track. I’m not sure why it would be performing a destructive act like this so I’m trying to figure it out.

From what I red before I saved things, it said it could be caused by conflicting matches, but I checked the data, made some manual changes and it looked good to me. Saved everything and poof it was gone.

Restored from backups and tested it again. I recorded the behavior. It appears that any changes made to the meta data then hitting CTRL+9 to refresh the subfolder causes the status to change to red… with a save behavior of delete.

Another Example, If it can’t find a match in MB and then incorrectly matches in Bandcamp, when you refresh subfolder based on meta it will error out. There is no way to recover easily or override… unless I’m missing something.

I think I’ve figured out the issue. I changed the settings so Discogs would fill certain MB tags if they didn’t exist like release type and media. I then manually matched the album to the correct discog ID and metadata correctly updated.

The problem is when you use those MB tags in a naming mask and they are altered either manually or by the discog tag override settings. Once you correct sub folders from metadata the status changes to red and the action is to delete. I’ve submitted support files.

Hi, yes status red means files will be deleted if you save changes.

CNTL-9 runs Correct Sub Folders from Metadata, however CNTL-F9 marks files for deletion so do you think you may have done that instead, the log does say Marked 1 files for deletion

Ooof, that’s dangerous… lol I had no idea they were so similar. Is there a cheat sheet for this app?

Could be the case, I did catch myself doing that at first. That said, before I was using keyboard shortcuts I was refreshing it through the menu.

I’m going to pick some obscure artists with missing releases in MB and see if I can recreate it again.

I don’t have a help page that list all shortcuts (I should add that) but they are listed next to the menu item.
