Would it be possible to have an option to remove the Read only attribute if encountered
Read only attribute
Read Only ( RO ) is easy to remove by selecting folder - right click - properties - and uncheck ( blank square, not only greyed with check ) no special function is needed in jaikoz
I think bbrodka , would like the read only attribute to be removed from within Jaikoz as it encounters the file so that can be open and modified.
But I dont think its upto Jaikoz to start modifying permissions that should be done in the OS, Also the Special Permissions available in Windows Vista are not programtically modifiable with Java (as used by Jaikoz) making it very difficult to change them.
I would like this as well. There seems to be a well know issue with Vista where it sets folders to readonly.
I have disabled User Access Control (UAC), tried to remove the readonly setting through file->properties, but it keeps coming back so Jaikoz thinks it can not write to the folder.
Here’s one place where it’s pretty well described:

Thanks,

Does it improve things if you right click on Jaikoz, select Properties and enable Compatability/Run as Administrator
