Re-group tracks that have been tagged/separated to different albums

Hello Jaikoz users!

I have many tracks (+5000 of 16,000) that have been tagged incorrectly by other audio tagging software, into albums that contain only one or two tracks.
Do any of you know how arrange for jaikoz to retag as many of the tracks as possible into one album, instead of separating out the tracks as other taggers have done with my music?

I currently have all my tracks automatically organised by itunes, artist/album folder scheme by tag.

My first post on the forum, hope someone can take the time to help answer my question.

Are the split albums still stored in their original location, i.e 5 tracks have been tagged to album1 , 5 tracks have been tagged to album2 but all 10 tracks are still in folder 1 ?

If so enable:

Preferences:Remote Correct:Match Complete Releases Only
Preferences:Remote Correct:Group Songs By Folder Only

then run Correct Metadata from MusicBrainz that should fix many of them, and you can review the changes before saving.

If they are already split so that the tracks tagged to album 1 are in folder1, and the those tagged to album 2 are in folder 2 then it is more difficult and you’ll may have to fix the album at a time. You can use the column browser to filter songs to show one set that you want to be an album and then use Action:Match to Release:Match Songs to One MusicBrainz Release or Match to Specified MusicBrainz Release if you know the release you want to match to.

Alternatively you could use Action:Remote Correct:Manual Correct Metadata from MusicBrainz and reject/accept matches as you see fit, this can be done at release level, not just for each track

Thanks Paul for your reaction, I was not expecting a reply from you directly.
Unfortunately the “keep tracks organised” setting in iTunes has meant that the tracks are already organised in folders based on the incorrect tags. I think it will have to be hands on repair work unfortunately.

I have switched the option off as I have noticed odd behaviour when jaikoz is set to update the iTunes library, hopefully it will play nice with iTunes Match!
