Question about tagging albums.

I’m adding complete albums to Jaikos, and almost always, there are one or two songs from the album that are being tagged wrong. I have been manually editing these, but I would like to know if there is a better way.

Is it possible to make Jaikos to tag those incorrectly tagged songs with the info from the same release as the others that were tagged correctly?

I think I did this by pasting the music brains release ID from a correctly tagged song and then “update from existing mb id” is that the right way?

If it is the easiest way, is there a way to apply that to several files at once?

Also, sometimes there is an entire field missing (such as genre). Is there a way to look up the genre with jaikos and apply the one in music brains (or elsewhere) and apply it to the whole album?

Great product, thanks for looking,

There is a longstanding bug in Musicbrainz with Stopwords that Ive fixed http://jaikoz.blogspot.com/2009/03/unable-to-find-is-this-it-album-bug.html on dev but isnt fixed on Musicbrainz yet, but this should happen with the next server release.

That is the correct way, but you can copy the value from one field and then paste it into all the other rows in one go, and then use the context menu to run update on the selected rows.

Yes please do, you can submit all the genres in your files to Musicbrainz using Action/Remote Correct/Submit Musicbrainz Genres and then they wil be available for everyone to use.

Jaikoz lookups genres from Musicbrainz or Discogs, if you have a link from the Musicbrainz release to discogs. If you find the release on Discogs yourself and then enter it into the Discogs Release Url then Jaikoz can retrive it with Update tags from Discogs

Thanks.

Is there a way to delete a song that is loaded onto jaikoz?

Nevermind. I see that it marks the file and then deletes it on save.
