Question about duplicates... please read

BTW thank you very much for a wonderfull program… my library is a total mess and this has helped GREATLY.

not sure if this can be done… ill explain my issue,

i have a stora NAS box that holds about 7K of songs on it, im trying to add another 40GB of music from a HDD that i have…

now im sure that many of the songs that im importing are already in the library on the NAS (well infact i know there are about 3k duplicates…)

is there any way that i can make the songs im importing desirible to delete?

ill show an example cause im not that great at explaining…

open jaikoz…
load 7k songs from NAS (0 - 7000 in jaikoz)
load 40GB folder of songs on hdd (7001 - say 15000 in jaikoz list)
search for duplicates…
delete only songs from the HDD not the NAS (i.e cross reference the whole list, but only remove duplicate files that reside in 7001 - 15000 range in jaikoz and leave the first 7k on the NAS untouched and only used as a reference for finding duplicates)

can this be done?

now i know one way is to add them all into the NAS then sort after, but i just creates alot of wasted time, thus why i thought id ask the question

Many thanks in advance if any one can help me with this

Yes load all your files.
Fix all your files if you haven’t already done so, they need Musicbrainz Ids and/or AmpliFinds IDs in order for Jaikoz to find duplicates.
Select Filters/Filter Musicbrainz Unique Ids/Duplicate MusicBrainz Unique Id and/or Filters/Filter AmpliFIND Acoustic Ids/Duplicate AmpliFIND Acoustic Id to filter your duplicates accoridngly.
Then sort the songs by Rec No, and you can then easily delete all the Songs that came from one hard drive rather than the other.

so it can be done, but just manually not by the program, am i understanding you correctly?

i had used the filters but it was auto selecting for deletion songs in the first 7k

i had thought about doing it manually, but when your dealing with 3k duplicates it a bit of a chore, spec when i have about a further 20k in total songs after this batch

No, the filter dont select any songs for deletion they just show all the songs of which there are duplicates,i.e more than one song with the same id. So having selected the filters just sort by Recno and then select songs the group of songs starting from recno 7001 down to 15,000 and select Action/Delete Files and then if you are happy select File/Save Changes
