Purchased Jaikoz standard, need help with itunes library please.

Hi,

I just bought the standard version of Jaikoz to organize, fill in album art and help me complete albums on a 30 gb music collection.

I am running Mac OSX 10.6.8 and itunes version 10.5.2

Everything seems to be working fine and I am happy with the program but I am having one problem with the files being duplicated in itunes after being saved.

I have been playing around and only doing 10 - 20 songs at a time to avoid duplicating my entire library but I still cant quite figure out what I need to do here.

I have been copying batches of songs to a folder on my desktop labeled un edited music, then loading it to Jaikoz, auto correcting then saving.

The problem is after saving they immediately transfer back to itunes and create duplicates, making it a royal pain to go through and delete all of the original files, especially when the data was correct to begin with so the info is the same, and trying to determine which ones have album art and which dont.

Can someone please tell me how to do this smoothly? I would like to go through my entire library eventually and would appreciate some insight.

Thank you!

Hi. if the files are already in iTunes don’t you want to edit those files rather than a copy of the files, if so just select the folders from within the iTunes media folder (assuming you have iTunes configured to managed your files).

If you do actually want to work on a copy of the files then I think you just want to remove the automtic updating of iTunes from Jaikoz, just set Preferences:Save:iTunes AutoUpdate:Automatically update iTunes Library to false.

Ok, I guess I overlooked the fact I should go through the back door of itunes and edit the root music files rather then editing the tracks through the itunes app.

This seems to work fine now.

A question about having Jaikoz auto updating, does it auto update the library as tracks are imported or all the time?

Just wondering as although Jaikoz gets most of my tracks correct, it has also messed up a few albums (labeling some tracks into really odd albums) and I have had to re organize a few manually, so I dont want it to auto update and ruin any manual changes I have had to do.

Thanks

Update Occurs after you select File/Save Changes.
Jaikoz makes no changes to your files until you save changes, so should review changes made before saving, then revert fix any potential changes you are not happy with.

Great thank you for the fast and helpful replies.
