Preserve file dates when updating TAGs?

Hello!

I have noticed that Jaikoz 4.3.0 is using the new ACOUSTID_FINGERPRINT TAG and is no longer updating the old MUSICIP_PUID TAG.
I have 80.000 FLAC files in my collection and all of them have the MUSICIP_PUID TAG filled in. I want to add ACOUSTID_FINGERPRINT TAGs to these files, but if I do that then the file dates of all my files will be updated and next time I run a backup they will all get included in the backup… which means I’ll have to back up 2.3 TB of data - something I’m really not looking forward to…

Is there a way to configure Jaikoz to skip updating the file last modified date when updating the TAGs? I know that the metaflac command line utility offers the --preserve-modtime switch for achieving this, but I cannot find something similar in Jaikoz…

Thanks!

Firstly whilst Jaikoz 4.3.0 does not allow you to create new puids, it can still use existing ones for matching so don’t remove them.

Updating without updating mod time has come up before, but actually I couldn’t grasp the need for it, thankyou for showing me a good reason for it.
Unfortunately I do not have a solution for you at this time.

Thanks for the reply.

I am not planning to remove the PUID TAGs, there’s no reason to do it - I just want to add AcoustID TAGs to be ready for applications which support it…

I’ll think about the best way to do it - I’ll probably add AcoustID TAGs progressively - when doing other TAG changes which justify the need for a backup, I’ll add AcoustID data at the same time…
