Out of curriosity : musicbrainz vs discogs matching percentages

Hi,

I’ve read here that musicbrainz usually should have better song matching than discogs, but I was reading a log of all my previously processed album folders, and here is the analyses of it :

  • The average percentage of tracks matched via MusicBrainz is approximately 60.64%
  • The average percentage of tracks matched via Discogs is approximately 90.17%

Is it just methat do have better discogs efficiency ?

I think it’s because you have alot of singles and eps, that are better served by Discogs. But most customers are mainly album based and MusicBrainz has good coverage of this, and has advantage over Discogs that Acoustids can have direct link to song on Musicbrainz, but there is no direct link to Discogs.
