Old versions

Hello

I have recently made the switch to MacOS and wanted to download an old version.
I know that there are bugfixes that aren’t present in old versions and aren’t supported, but I really miss 2 functions from the old versions:
cluster albums instead of the “match to a single release”. Indeed when I process files, it’s usually a batch of 200 songs, usually spread in about 40 albums. The way I work is to tag files as best as I can, and then use the cluster album to regroup the songs that eventually have been spread in multiple releases. It’s not possible to do so anymore, and I’d like to re-use the cluster album feature

the sliders to adjust each parameter value when matching with musicbrainz. I used to tune these to fit my needs perfectly. I understand that they are a bit overwhelming for a newbie, but they are oh so powerful when dealing with songs where the duration is off by a few seconds, where the titles are messed up but album title and song number if OK, etc…
My questions are roughly what version should I go for in the past? 3.8.0? Older? Can I download any version by using the manual download URL?

Thanks in advance

Hi, the cluster albums function used to be required because matching in Jaikoz was just on a song by song basis. But with Autocorrect now this really shouldnt be necessary because songs are grouped first to try and Jaioz trys to match each group to one album. If your songs are already organized one folder per album you’ll get better results if you enable Preferences:rRemote Correct:Group Songs by Folder Only

The sliders really didnt make much sense is many situations, the new algorithm is so much better.

I’m afraid the older versions are not aviailable.

Case 1
If you put each CD within its own folder within this folder and then enable Only Match Complete Releases and Group Songs by Folder Only it wil only change songs within any folder if it can find a single releases that all songs in the folder can be matched to. But you say you are not putting them in a seperate folder, but I really think this is the way to go.

Case 2:
This is where the [b]Action/Match to Release/Match Songs to Specified Release can be helpful, if you know what release you want to link to you can force Jaikoz to match to it, you can also search for releases within Jaikoz.

If you send me examples I will try an address them, although the solution will not be to rea-add Cluster Releases or the Slider scores back into Jaikoz but I still think you just need to try out some of the newer features of Jaikoz.

But I can’t advise you on the best previous version for to use because not only do I not agree with this but new versions of Jaikoz are released most months and I really cannot remember when various changes were put in

Lilya really sorry just realised I edited your post rather than replied to your post I no longer have acess to your original post, do you want to reply ?

OK Paul, took me a while since I haven’t been tagging a lot these days, but here’s a fresh example where I need to edit manually, because the autocorrect makes strange decisions

http://kragone.free.fr/2011.zip (remove the link once you got the file)

There are 3 files in there. When I run autocorrect it maps the songs to an exotic “Deluxe” multi-CD release (1d311999-ff1b-4ce0-b1ce-945aa1b923d3)

I have manually put in the release ID (5fd0f87b-fb3c-461a-8b9d-ed0fbc4cb3f2). But when I run autocorrect again, it choses to change the release ID and re-match to the Deluxe release)

Yet, when I click manual match to MusicBrainz, then the best 100% match choice is the correct one.

I have no clue why autocorrect is picking a different release, and is deciding to supercede the already existing release ID in the files.

Hi, unless you put in a Recording Id for each song Autocorrect will try to match the songs based on metadata and/or acoustid, a manually entered release id will be ignored.

What you should be doing is using

Action/Match to Release/Match Songs to Specified Release

and specify the release Id there.
