OLD:Forthcoming new Jaikoz features

I though Id try and give you some idea of what will be in the forthcoming releases of Jaikoz, the following is a list in priority order of all the top 15 new features. These are all quite chunky pieces of work, Im also going to post a list of small enhancements and another list of bugs and minor fixes.
Comments welcome.

  1. Add the ability to drag and drop files and folders to and from Jaikoz
  2. There are some fields (such as Barcode, Label,ISRC and Conductor) that are supported for Mp3 but need to add support for the other formats,
  3. Add a delete Duplicates task
  4. Add support for Windows Media Audio (wma) files.
  5. Add Support for Flac files embedded within Ogg Format
  6. Add support for automatically finding the lyrics for songs
  7. Add toolbar icons for more of the tasks
  8. Add the ability to drag and drop iTunes playlist to Jaikoz
  9. Have a recently opened folder list
    10.Add support for reading BMP images
    11.Add the ability to backup and restore the metadata from the files
    12.Add support for getting genres from last.fm
    13.Allow multithreading when doing MusicIP Analysis
    14.Improve memory handling to ensure can’t run out of memory
    15.Add option for converting from Charset x for incorrectly encoded Mp3 files
    16.Add some more reports

Been implemented in any of the releases?

This would be a life saver as my tags are all clean, but the way the genres are tagged are a mess as they come from so many different sources.

No genres have not been done yet.

Item 12.Add support for getting genres from last.fm, hasnt been done for last.fm but added support for Musicbrainz Folksonomy tags as genres in 2.5.0

Item 13.Allow multithreading when doing MusicIP Analysis is done in 2.5.0
